Many ADULTS and young people experience times when they feel under pressure and find it hard to cope, either as a person who has mental, emotional or physical health problems or as a carer or someone suffering with relationship issues. If you are suffering with relationship issues both people in the relationship would not have to attend. Having one person attend therapy is usually enough. Sometimes we need the support and understanding of someone who can offer another perspective, helping us to see a fresh insight, and clearer view. Counselling helps you to look at and discuss problems occurring in adult relationships. The relationship, rather than the two individuals, is the client.
Our very closest relationships are based on intimacy and trust. When they stop working it can have a great effect on us and also on our health and happiness. Our sense of identity and self-worth often relies on the strength of our relationships and when our relationship fails we can feel hopeless.
Pressures in our lives, work, money family and health all add to the strain. All of a sudden the relationship that once re-energised us leaves us exhausted and disappointed.
